2. Medical disclaimer

We review supplement labels. We don't give medical advice.

## Not medical advice

Everything on this site is general information about products sold online. It isn't medical advice and can't replace care from your doctor.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. The products reviewed here are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

## If you take medication for blood sugar

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before adding any supplement. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (part of the NIH) warns that "using herbal supplements such as cinnamon, St. John's wort, or aloe with conventional diabetes drugs can cause unwanted side effects," and that it's "very important not to replace medical treatment for diabetes with an unproven health product or practice."

Never stop, skip or change a prescription because of a supplement. If anything feels off after you start one, tell your doctor.

## Others who should ask first

Anyone pregnant or nursing, anyone with kidney or liver disease, anyone taking other prescription drugs, and anyone buying for a child.
