# How we review a supplement

The same questions for every product, in the same order, whether or not a link pays us.

## The questions

1.  ### Are the amounts on the label?
    
    A label that gives each ingredient's amount lets you compare. One total for a "proprietary blend" doesn't, and we say which kind you're looking at.
    
2.  ### What does a day cost?
    
    Each package divided by the days it lasts at the seller's serving (when the seller doesn't state one, we say so and assume one a day), plus shipping when the seller states it. Every price comes with the date we read it.
    
3.  ### What does the refund cover?
    
    How long you have, whether opened or empty bottles count, how to ask and who pays to send it back, as far as the seller says.
    
4.  ### Do the claims hold up?
    
    "Supports healthy blood sugar levels" is a supplement claim. Promises about coming off insulin or fixing diabetes aren't, and we quote them only to flag them, never as a reason to buy.
    
5.  ### Anything to clear with your doctor?
    
    We list the ingredients sold for blood sugar, such as berberine, chromium, cinnamon, bitter melon and gymnema, so you can take the list to your doctor. The NIH's complementary health center warns that some herbal supplements used with diabetes drugs can cause unwanted side effects.
    
6.  ### Where does it ship, and are there red flags?
    
    The countries the seller serves, plus countdown timers, "was" prices the seller never charges, unnamed doctors and review counts you can't check.
    

## What we leave out on purpose

We haven't run lab tests or tried these products on anyone. There are no star ratings on this site, because a score would suggest a test that never happened.

When a seller promises that a supplement fixes a medical condition, we quote it only to say it doesn't hold. Every review says the same thing: a supplement isn't a replacement for your treatment.

## About the method

**Why no scores?**

Because a score implies a test. You get the facts you'd compare anyway: amounts, cost per day, refund terms, shipping and medication cautions.

**How current are the prices?**

Each price shows the date we read it. Sellers change prices often, so the order page is where the final number lives.

**Do commissions change the verdicts?**

No. Every product goes through the same questions, and a product we'd tell you to avoid gets no buy button.
